Notice: I am currently practicing social distancing to help flatten the curve on the Coronavirus. Until further notice, I am only booking distance reiki sessions.
To prepare to receive reiki, please:
- complete the Reiki Client Information Form (1st session only)
- wear comfortable, non-binding clothing
- use the washroom
- remove jewelry and metals
- drink plenty of water and consider taking a salt bath after the session to promote detox
What to expect:
I’ll greet you, receive your completed intake form, and respond to any questions you may have. We’ll discuss your general goals; comprehensive details aren’t necessary.
During the session, you’ll lie on your back on a massage table, fully clothed in a relaxed position. You can choose to be covered with a light sheet or blanket, be supported by pillows, and listen to music, or not. If you wish, you can choose an essential oil for my palms.
The aim of reiki is to ensure that your energy is open and flowing. To facilitate this, first, I’ll scan your body and let you know where I sense energetic blockages. Discovering congestion is both typical and instructive: you can learn a lot about how your body reacts to and reflects your physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual stresses and health.
I generally focus on the most blocked areas first, then typically move from your head to your feet, hovering above your body or placing my hands gently on various hand positions at the head, throat, chest, abdomen, hips, knees and feet. If you have back issues and time permits, I may work on those areas, too.
Just as every client is special, every reiki session is unique. During the session, you may experience sensations such as heat, tingling, floating, shaking, crying, stomach gurgling or even a sudden need to use the washroom! Some people also experience colours, images, stories and insights. Others experience none of these things and simply enjoy deep relaxation. Whatever your experience, trust that reiki is flowing to where it needs to go, clearing blocks, and working for the highest of good.
At a minimum, you can expect reiki to be a relaxing respite from your everyday activities. During your session, I report energetic insights which can be so surprising, validating and helpful that many clients like to have their sessions recorded. Recipients usually experience physical, emotional and / or mental releases. Some sessions, like the first one I received, can even be transformative! For examples of especially memorable sessions, see the Reiki Stories on this site, and review the testimonials I have received from clients and students.
If you are striving for greater balance, satisfaction and/or abundance in your personal and/or professional lives and could use a knowledgeable, experienced and supportive ally, consider adding life coaching to your session.
I accept payment by cash, cheque or etransfer.
